JOB DESCRIPTION

Do you have 3-5 years experience as a full stack dev (Ruby or Python) working on tough problems in a fast-paced commercial environment?

Are you a natural leader? Does it seem like you always end up running things, whether you have the formal authority to or not?

Do you dream of having the authority to make critical decisions that affect the outcome of the project you are working on?

If you answered yes to all of these questions, please reach out to connect with us! We are a small team of technical experts looking for our very first project lead. As project lead, you will own a combination of “hands-on” coding and project management responsibilities in order to take the lead on a large software development project. You will work closely with a small team of senior engineers that will look to you in order to ensure that their technical efforts are aligned with the needs of the project.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

Ideally, you should have 3 years commercial full stack development and have worked on large-scale web applications, ideally within a startup environment. As a developer, you should be comfortable autonomously driving your own high quality / high velocity contributions using a range of technologies.

You should be motivated to work remotely as part of a 100% remote team.

Most importantly, you should have the leadership and communication skills necessary to take ownership of a large software development project. This includes taking part in everything from requirements tracking to coding to QA.

Our current technical stacks include:

  • Rails / Python
  • MySQL / PostgreSQL / Redis
  • Agile collaboration tools: Github, Trello, Flowdock, Chef, Ansible, Vagrant, etc
  • Modern software techniques: RESTful APIs, SOA, PaaS, etc
