Description: 

Analysts will build upon their broad understanding of the key data elements necessary to support all functional disciplines within BlackRock, and an opportunity to go deeper on one or more asset types in order to specialize and support the portfolio management process. In addition, Analysts will gain a deep understanding of the Aladdin data model and all data vendor relationships necessary to support $4 trillion worth of assets, as well as participate on projects to improve processes and support new product rollouts. As a Data Integrity Group Analysts you will gain a unique perspective of BlackRock as you support most internal functions. Some Associates have moved on into Portfolio Analytics, Portfolio Management, Software Development, Risk Management, Business Analysis, or have furthered their careers within the Data Management Operation.


Responsibilities:
 

  • Daily support of trading process with regard to data requirements for BlackRock and BlackRock Solution’s Clients
  • Daily quality control and validation of time series data including security terms and conditions, reference, payment, and analytical data, and occasionally trading, index and corporate action data
  • Liaison with market data vendors and market dealers to obtain the most accurate data
  • Interact with internal and external clients to serve as a financial security knowledge desk, managing expectations of service delivery, and provide superior customer service
  • Operate as part of a global team with consistent service and process
  • Constantly evaluate process and procedures for inefficiencies and make recommendations for improvement
  • Maintain procedural documentation and update as necessary
  • Perform testing of in-house software and external vendor products


    Qualifications:
     

  • Candidate must possess and demonstrate a working knowledge of fixed income, equity and derivative instruments as well as finance with the skills and ability to work in an entrepreneurial and team oriented environment.
  • Candidate must have enthusiasm for, and comfort with, working at a fast and furious pace while maintaining quality and the integrity of investment data.
  • Candidate must have flexibility regarding their work hours
  • Candidate must be able to work multiple shifts at different times throughout the year
  • Candidate must have the ability to quickly learn the intricacies of complex financial instruments and adapt their technical ability quickly
  • Excellent communication skills to enable clear articulation while working with internal and external clients
  • A college degree in Finance, Computer Science, or Engineering is required
  • Working knowledge of technical tools such as SQL, Unix commands, PERL, etc. is a plus
