Techbiz is looking for a business-savvy
and technical data analyst to help us provide affordable, effective, and
enjoyable test prep to even more students across the globe. You will play a
critical role in defining and solving many strategic and operational problems
we face. More importantly, you will have an excellent playground to develop as
a generalist data professional and work on solutions that truly matter for the
company.
This
position is a full-time, in-office position based in the TechBiz office in DFW
Area, TX with an annual salary of $60,000 to $80,000, depending on
experience. You must be authorized to work in the US.

In this position, you will…
·
Build a comprehensive set of
dashboards for product and marketing to empower your colleagues in their own
decision making
·
Perform ad hoc analysis across
departments and make actionable suggestions
·
Guide experimentations for
individual product features or marketing campaigns, from beginning to end
·
Instrument new data collections and
refine our current data warehousing architecture
You…
·
Have college-level coursework in
probability theory, machine learning/econometrics, and research design, or
equivalent work experience
·
Are proficient in Python/R: you need
little help implementing standard machine learning algorithms and can easily
explain the results
·
Have at least 1 year of work
experience with SQL in an analytical role: you can independently optimize your
query for performance & readability
·
Are comfortable with Excel: you can
easily create pivot tables, nested conditions, and lookups
·
Have real-life experience
translating business problems into data problems with different stakeholders.
·
Can explain in layman’s terms the intuition
behind your statistical models and build trust among your colleagues
Extra
credit if you…
·
Have real-life experience using data
analysis or building data products to reach significant business metrics
·
Can creatively solve a data problem
by either modifying an off-the-shelf solution or defining your own method
·
Are experienced with mining very
large (several million rows) and messy (missing values & non-tabular)
datasets
·
Have worked with Mixpanel and Google
Analytics
